Derone Sookraj is an Associate in the Conveyancing Department at PGPS Attorneys. He specialises in conveyancing and property law, with a particular interest in both local and agency
conveyancing.
Derone obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg campus in 2018. He completed his articles at a prominent Pietermaritzburg law firm, where he discovered a strong interest in conveyancing and property law while working in the firm’s agency and local conveyancing departments.
During this time, Derone also gained valuable exposure to the daily workings of the Deeds Office
and had the opportunity to build relationships with Deeds Office staff and examiners. Derone was admitted as both an Attorney and Conveyancer on 20 March 2020 and practised as a Professional Assistant until the end of that year. He joined PGPS Attorneys in January 2021 and was admitted as a Notary Public on 24 January 2022. His practical experience and enthusiasm for property law make him a valuable member of the firm’s conveyancing team.
