Tell us a bit about yourself…
My family is originally from Pietermaritzburg, and I was born and schooled here. My wife and I have been married for 23 years and we have two teenage daughters. My wife is also an attorney however we have a rule to never discuss work at home!
What inspired you to choose your respective field of work?
Growing up I always knew that I wanted to do a professional job I just wasn’t sure of the line of work. Whilst working part-time at a local law firm as a Deeds office clerk in the property department, I found my passion for property law and decided to study for my LLB. I registered for 5years and was able to complete my studies in 3years.
What service, services do you offer?
I am a conveyancer and attend to most aspects of property matters, including transfers, bonds. I attend the deeds office every day dealing with each matter that comes across my desk.
How many employees do you have?
Our firm, PGPS comprises 38 employees. Of which the property department has 10 employees.
What makes your team so effective?
I have a team of three wonderful ladies that have worked with me for a number of years. This allows me as a professional to provide my clients with the best possible service.
To what do you attribute your success?
I have always worked hard and have a drive to succeed. Passion, persistence, and self-discipline are three key perspectives to retain in order to succeed.
What’s your company’s objective?
Personally going the extra mile as well as attention to detail. We as a firm ensure that our clients are satisfied with the service that we provide, and hope that they return to us for further professional advice.
What do you like doing in your spare time?
In my spare time I enjoy watching Formula 1 motor racing. My favourite driver is Ayrton Senna. and I had the priveelidge of attending the Malaysia/Singapore GP in 1999. I also collect motor GP model cars of which I have a collection of roughly 50.
What advice would you give to the next generation aspiring to follow the same career path?
Work hard and be proud of what you achieve. Life is simple. You get out what you put in. View every person you meet as a door that may lead you to a new opportunity. You never know how a person can add to your life professionally or personally if you don’t give them a chance.
